Letter to the Office of Teaching and Learning
This letter served as the final paper for Sociological Classics. This required course for Sociology majors focused on the theories and writing of the first and most notable social theorists. In this class I explored the work of Emile Durkheim, Karl Marx, and Max Weber to name a few. Throughout the course we framed our learning of these theorists around our experiences with learning in college. For my final paper I decided to write a letter to the Office of Teaching and Learning at the University of Denver expressing my distaste for the current grading system set in place at this University and others. I explored how modern grading systems and scales are a hinderance to students and grounded my analysis in my personal experience and the theorists
mentioned above.
