My Theory of Writing

For my Theories of Writing course I completed an essay explaining my personal theory of writing. Throughout the quarter I explored the work and processes of other writers, and over the course of those 10 weeks I also explored my own. I examined my history of writing, drawing on learning and re-learning what "good" writing is over the course of my education. I decided to dive deeper into why I believed, and still do believe, writing is hard. I challenged myself to write about why I believe creative writing is especially difficult. I have never been a creative writer and by examining my challenges with creative writing I was also able to reflect on my challenges with academic writing.
